Journaling by the Moonlight
A Workbook for Mothers on a Path to Self-Discovery
You’re a Mother, But Who Are You Really?
This transformative workbook—featuring a foreword by Kay Adams, founder of the Center for Journal Therapy—and the accompanying journaling card deck gently guide you through the moon’s phases.
As you journal, you’ll uncover your most authentic self and connect the dots to a life filled with purpose, passion, and creative expression.
What Inspired Journaling by the Moonlight?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by the moon. Studying its phases in astronomy classes and exploring its astrological influence on personal transformation led me to dive deeper into the moon’s spiritual significance across cultures. No matter where we are in the world, we all share the same moon—a universal connection.
The moon has been a source of comfort throughout my life, especially during a time when I felt a loss of personal identity—the first two years of becoming a mother. Amidst the joy and celebration, I also faced anxiety, depression, and confusion. I was a mother, but who was I really?
I spent many nights gazing at the moon, searching for answers. Journaling became my way of processing this transition—capturing my thoughts, reflecting on my evolving role, and rediscovering my identity. As I observed the moon’s phases shifting from darkness to light, I realized they mirrored my own journey of transformation. This curiosity sparked a desire to learn more about how the moon influences the emotional tides of women.
Drawing from my experience, training as a life purpose coach, and expertise as a journaling workshop facilitator, I created Journaling by the Moonlight—a guided workbook for mothers who feel disconnected from their personal identity.
“Journaling by the Moonlight has such a powerful purpose in the world. Tina’s support, inspiration, and insight not only allow mothers to explore themselves and become more of who they were meant to be, Tina is also empowering generations to come–spiritually healthy moms create healthy children and healthy communities. As Tina shows mothers how to heal through journaling, she is literally healing the world.”
“Tina brings to light the conflicts of motherhood which most of us mothers feel – yet may not feel comfortable divulging and/or exploring. With compassion and by telling her own story, she takes you by the hand and walks you through a process of moonlit journaling – a process which every mother would benefit.”
A Workbook Designed for Mothers in Transition

In Journaling by the Moonlight: A Workbook for Mothers on a Path to Self-Discovery, I share my personal journey and stories from other mothers who have embarked on similar paths. Designed as a guided journaling workbook, this book provides space for deep reflection through writing prompts, encouraging you to answer the pivotal question:
“I’m a mother, but who am I really?”
The workbook aligns with the phases of the moon, gently leading mothers from uncertainty to clarity, toward a life of purpose, passion, and creative expression.
To complement the self-discovery process, the 54-card journaling prompt deck (organized into nine moon phases, including the blue moon) offers additional guidance.
“This book is a gem and a MUST for every mother who wants to deepen the process of motherhood as well as cultivate or enhance her creative prowess and connection to herself. Using the magnetism of the moon, Tina is the Muse of Journaling Moms. She has made this book enchanting, irresistible, and inviting for moms to reflect on a time of life they want to savor and survive.”
“When I was a young mother in search of myself, I’d gaze at the moon for inspiration. I would have welcomed Tina Games’ wise and gentle guide on my search for an authentic self. Tina’s journaling method is a gift of wisdom that will shine a light on your inner journey. As a grandmother now, I’m inspired to use her prompts to reconnect with the moon and its phases to enhance my creative reflections. This book has wonderful wisdom for women of any age.”
